The Boy Who Chased the Sunrise
A poor village boy dreams of becoming an engineer. Through hardship, books, and sheer will, he chases the sunrise toward success.
Rain hammered the tin roof of a small house at the edge of Kavali village.
Inside, a boy named Arjun sat on the floor, staring at a torn notebook.
He was twelve. He had one dream. To become an engineer.
But his father was a farmer. Some years the rains came. Some years they didn't.
Tonight was one of the years they didn't.
"Baba," Arjun said softly, "I need new books for next term."
His father didn't look up from the accounts. "There's no money, beta."
Arjun nodded. He didn't cry. He had learned not to.
